This may be the same
unit still sold by JC Whitney to this day? If you recognise the brand
of this kit or have a different type to photograph and share with viewers,
please contact Eric at Photo was taken in 1992. Kit was in good condition, but car had body problems and was parted out that year. Front end now owned by customer in South San Francisco, CA, but not yet installed on his own project car. |

Unit hinges forward on a set of special hinges mounted to front rails. This kit has a small metal section welded to the lower body where a stock front fender lower section would normally be attached. This piece has upper holes in it that receive metal pegs attached to the upper section so as to help support and align the upper section to the body door and cowl lines in it's closed position. |

"I got my full fiberglass front end from MASS or MAS Racing, they have front ends for all popular cars. They advertise in most car mags. The difference is it also replaces the vent cowl/wiper panel. I am going to leave the lights stationary. Will not be a "tilt front end " when done. With the 240 engine the car weights 1140 front/1120 rear full tank of gas." |

"I have a different one that I was told might be the same part that Whitney sells, but the one you have pics of looks like better quality. I am not tilting mine, I didn't like the look of the exposed unibody. Of course that really doesn't matter in my case now. There are pics of mine at www.jasonjarvis.com under the project speedster Z section. None of them are good, but you can see a little. I decided to cut mine apart. I removed the valence and molded lips to mount the Motorsport front air dam. I also cut out the hood out. I had to make a frame for it (the hood) because it was too flimsy to support itself." |

"I was inspired to do this project when I saw the jaguar xj220 concept car. I chose the 260z because of its aerodynamic shape that lent itself toward my goal. I started by cutting three sideview sections of the nose out of sheet metal and formed and fastened wire mesh to the contour and then fiberglassed over that finishing up with lite weight bondo."
