PARTS INTERCHANGE MANUALS FOR AUTO ENTHUSIASTS

The BodyShop InterChange Manuals that I sell provide indispensable information needed by anyone that frequently searches for used or new parts for a particular model of car, especially those that had many production date changes over the course of it's production life. The information in these manuals is most often used by body and repair shops to determine the manufacturer's part number, interchange production dates and time needed to repair any particular year and model that may come into their shops after a collision.  Most areas of the body have exploded-view illustrations with numbered pointers to help identify any part concerned.

Mostly I have IC manuals for Japanese and European models produced from the early 1970's to 1993.  Hopefully I will be able to broaden this offerring in the future.  Occasionally I have manuals for US domestic cars and trucks..

The 1970 to 1978 Z car by Datsun/Nissan illustrates clearly the importance of having InterChange information.   On the coupe body alone, doors, door glass, rear clip, front and rear bumpers were changed or re-stamped 4-5 different times resulting in parts that look identical to the untrained eye, but which actually will not fit on other model versions before or after a precise production date.  Two different suspensions were used that look almost identical, but are not.  2+2 models also had parts that were unique, such as the windshield (1/2" wider than the coupe), doors and hatch, yet the majority were interchangeable with all the coupe models from 1970 to 1978.  If you own one of these cars, chasing parts without an IC manual can cost you a lot of lost time and money. And if you know a Z car owner then you probably know a person that chases parts often!

A grouped set is determined usually by the vehicle model having the same body style. The set may cover only 2-4 years or it may range for more than 10. If the model name continued on after the body style changed then a new grouped set is usually required.  For instance, the Datsun/Nissan 1970-78 Z , the 1979-83 ZX and the first and second generation 300ZX's are examples of separate grouped sets.  If you email me with the production date of your car I will let you know what years your grouped set would include so you can be sure the set will be useful to you.  I can also inform you of how many grouped sets a particular model name may span in case that is pertinent to your situation.
