Purpose of this Index Page

This index has been created as an aide in communicating with customers, website supporters, photographers and web design professionals that I need to interact with related to the planning, design, and testing of project display ideas, concepts, test layouts and web based communication techniques.

If you've been directed to this index related to a particular project or test display, please scroll down to sections marked with a symbol until you find project name that I have directed you to. Below the project name will be numbered links to current experiments and project pages under developmnet.with brief desciptions of what is at issue at each link that I may need your opinion, critique or suggestions on. . Click on icon at end of each text description to view page referenced.

Please email your observations and suggestions to me at eric@zparts.com

Current Tables of Data & Statistics

Data in these tables are from credible sources, but I do not yet know whether all data is accurate. If anyone thinks he has/she has found incorrect data, specs or comments embedded in these tables I please notify me as to what you think is incorrect or with data or data sources that can correct the preceived errors. I will try to followup on it as time allows.

  1. Table of Production Dates and VIN numbers for all Z car models from 1970 thu 1996. This table appears to be the same as what Victoria British publishes in it's catalog with one or more additional columns added by myself.
    1. One descrepency in this table is the inexplicable gap in production dates from 5/70 to 1/71?
  2. Table listing all stock and modified Z car models for which I have 1970-1996 car magazine performance test data for, originally comipled by Donn Vickrey and developed for web presentation, with representative photos of appropriate year and make or actual car tested.

All Z Car Year/Model Documentation Project

  1. Year/Model Specifications Test layout # 2. Meant to be a simple popup browser window to display one photo of one model & year with as many example photos of original stock colors as can be found. Objective is for graphic control bar at bottom of page (or top or on sides) to load and be visible within typical 800x600 resolution on a 14" or larger monitor without need of scroll bars or any extraneous browser window clutter. Page is meant to be a "close window" only type in order to force viewer back to main Year/Model index or reference page and to avoid problems related to linking from a simple browser popup window.

Unresolved problems observed as of June 23, 2004

  1. Popup layer not aligning to display table and photo equally in all browsers. Underlying table may have to be positioned using a fixed position layer.
  2. Edges of lower NAV bar graphic showing slight pixel edges between html page hex generated colors and graphic's hex code generated color background in Illustrator. Can this slight pixel edge be eliminated using somekind of aliased effect setting on background?
  3. 650x437 photo appears to be too large of dimensions for display on a 14" montior (800x600) in a pop up window set to 760x600. 437px height is too high. 650x400 might be wiser to standardize on?

Magazine Performance Statistics Display Project

  1. Performance Stats test layout # 2 showing Year/Model text grapic header at top right, a performance data table on left and and assorted pop up layer control icons or text labels at bottom. Popup data and comment layers will activate with either a mouse over or click action and disappear with similar action. This is an evolving layout that will have more relevant data table layers and other comment layers designed and added over time as exact row & column count of data tables are finalized.

Unresolved problems observed as of June 23, 2004

  1. .PNG format graphic icons do not display in IE 5/6 browsers with transparent backgrounds, but do display as intended in Safari and Firefox.
  2. Popup layer not aligning to display table and photo equally in all browsers. Underlying table may have to be positioned using a fixed position layer.
