There are few
Z car or Datsun centric events put on in the San Francisco Bay area
anymore so when Datsun Fest 99 was announced I was quite intriqued
to attend, especially since it would take place at Rebello Racing's
Shop, a business that I have frequently worked with over the years.
I would like to
congradulate the event's organizers, ZDRIVER.COM and their main staff,
Kyle, Dennis and Dave for an outstanding event. The "all you
could eat" BBQ for $5.00 was and amazing deal in itself. Here's
hoping that these guys can make this an annual event. The San Francisco
Bay area Datsun scene needs more of this kind of happening.
To my pleasure
the turn out was quite good with over 120 Z cars, 510's and Roadsters
signed up officially at the show. The few photos in my Datsun Fest
99 preview page do not show how full of life and well attended this
show was. Row after row of beautiful Datsuns were everywhere. Lots
to look at and many an enthusiast to talk to for sure.
Anyway other concerns
occupied so much of my time that I was only able to capture a few
of the many intriquing cars there that day. I hope you enjoy them.
Several owners spoke to me about more extensive coverage of their
project cars so I may have more photos later on.
You can see much more extensive photo coverage of the Datsun Fest
99 event at ZDRIVER.COM
Except for Hoover
Chan's exotic turbo project and Dennis Grigg's attractively painted
silver car, I did not catch the names of the owners of any other cars
pictured. If anyone knows the owners of any of the cars pictured I
would appreciate knowing of them so I can properly credit them. Please
e-mail info to Eric at eric@zparts.com
Be sure to reference the preview image's # when you do.
All my best,
Eric Neyerlin,
